Beginning with the the 2012 spring Technical Conference, RIPA has adopted a new “online” means of registering for RIPA conferences.

RIPA members were sent recently an email providing them a link to a site that allowed them to register and pay for the conference all in one session. This new method saves attendees the time of having to print out a registration form, fill it out by hand, and fax or mail it the RIPA office. It also automatically tallies registrations and sorts important other data for use by RIPA staff and RIPA’s conference planner, Sharon Schenk.

Significantly for users, after the first registration, all individual data such as address and company will be automatically “populated” on the screen, saving even more time.

The initial response to the new method of registering has been good. RIPA plans to re-send a couple times the registration and conference information to all members as a reminder. RIPA expects a few registrants may prefer the old method, and accommodations will be made for taking “hard copy” forms. RIPA hopes eventually that all registrants will be comfortable with the online method.
