U.S. DOT to Conduct an In-House Regulatory Review

In a soon-to-be-published notice, the U.S. DOT will be inviting the public to provide input on existing rules, regulations and other agency actions that are good candidates for repeal, replacement, suspension, or modification.   See    HERE   a pre-publication copy of the agency ‘s notice.  RIPA will be assessing a good number of DOT regulations and policies, and advising  DOT on which rules and policies should be reviewed.  This DOT review is, at least in part, the result of three Executive Orders issued by the new administration earlier this year.  The period of public input will extend 30 days beyond the date of official publication (expected very soon).  The jurisdiction of DOT includes the hazmat offices and pipeline agencies under PHMSA, as well as the Federal Air Administration, the Railroad Administration and the Highway Administration, among others.
