Finally, membership is open to any business that uses industrial packagings

Benefits
- RIPA offers its members outstanding technical programs, compliance assistance, industry news and effective advocacy.
- RIPA is a superb resource to learn about and to shape the issues that affect your company’s bottom line. RIPA is the best source of regulatory, technical, legal and business information around.
- The association’s monthly newsletter, Reusable Packaging, is read by reconditioners, manufacturers, distributors and packaging users all over the world.
- RIPA’s web site, www.reusablepackaging.org, was the first of its kind in the industrial packaging industry and is a great source of information.
- RIPA’s meetings and conferences provide important information about emerging business trends, new technologies, business opportunities, regulations, standards and industry developments. The Steel Drum, Plastic Drum, Fiber Drum, and IBC Product Groups allow members to focus on the product line(s) of their choice. Members can participate in any or all of these groups. Each Group sets its own agenda, elects its own Chair and Vice Chair, and elects two representatives to the RIPA Board of Directors.
- RIPA is a valuable source of regulatory compliance assistance. Members have direct access to a staff that knows the fine points of DOT, EPA and OSHA regulations, and how these regulations affect their business. Also, members can subscribe to the MSDS Fax-on-Demand Program, an affordable service that relieves businesses of having to maintain cumbersome files of safety data sheets for hazardous materials.
- RIPA is the voice of the reusable industrial packaging industry before Congress, regulatory agencies, the public and the national standards-settings organizations. The association works on members’ behalf to help shape laws, regulations and standards that support the manufacture and reuse of reusable packaging.
- RIPA supports the International Confederation of Container Reconditioners which conducts important work on standards and policies that can affect packaging and reconditioners worldwide.
Dues
Membership dues for providers of industrial packagings are scaled to the gross revenue of the industrial packaging business. However, dues for Supplier/Associate members, Packagers and members outside North America are set at one annual amount for all members in their respective category. See the Membership Applications linked below for details on the dues amounts.
As with most trade associations, a full year’s dues is required for a new member (which includes any applicant seeking to re-join after more than a year’s non-participation). A new member that joins at any point during a calendar year would have its second-year’s dues discounted proportionately to reflect having joined mid-year.
Renewing members can arrange to pay dues quarterly by notifying the RIPA office.
